Burnley handed transfer boost as Tottenham Hotspur reportedly consider Nick Pope's alternatives

The international break hasn’t put a stop to the transfer speculation surrounding Burnley.

And today’s gossip brings potential good news for Clarets fans amid Tottenham Hotspur’s reported pursuit of Nick Pope.

According to the Daily Mail, Jose Mourinho’s side are now exploring alternative targets to the England international due to concerns they will be priced out of a swoop.

With Hugo Lloris’ future in doubt, Spurs had put Pope top of their list recruitment list but with Dyche wanting in-excess of £30million, the North London club are being forced to look elsewhere.

Spurs could struggle to meet Burnley’s valuation given the financial constraints caused by the Covid pandemic and the prospect of another season without lucrative Champions League football.

Indeed, cheaper options have been considered, including Wolfsburg’s Koen Casteels and Lille’s Mike Maignan.
