But he is in for a nervy couple of weeks himself, as he prepares to become a father for the first time!

Edgar headed a late equaliser against champions Cardiff City, which put the Clarets four points clear of the danger zone with six to play for.

And he is glad to have one less worry - although he hasn’t switched off yet: “Getting the six points is the main focus right now, and put all the worrying to bed.

“I should get a break then, although I say that … I’m having a baby soon, so not much of a break there so I’m told!

“The baby’s due in a couple of weeks, so it’s a massive couple of weeks for me.

“My fiancee is back home, she’s worrying a little bit but I’ll be back for the birth so it’s not a problem.”

To add to his busy couple of weeks, Edgar has a packed summer schedule as well with Canada, who play in the Concacaf Gold Cup in America in Los Angeles, Seattle and Denve: “I’ve got the CONCACAF Gold Cup this summer, so that should be good.

“We got drawn in a group with Mexico, Panama and Martinique.

“It will be a tough group to get out of.

“We’ve got a friendly against Costa Rica as well so it will be a busy summer.”
