Gary Parkinson tribute book to open at Turf Moor

Burnley Football Club is to open a tribute book to Gary Parkinson ahead of next weekend’s fund-raising dinner.

The former Clarets defender is continuing to make slow progress as he recovers from a serious stroke, suffered last September.

A host of former team mates come together to raise vital funds for his rehabilitation in the James Hargreaves Suite at Turf Moor on Sunday, 6th March.

And supporters can add their own tributes, personal messages of support and donations to the fund in his name in the special book, which will be located at the main reception in the Bob Lord Stand, every weekday from February 28 - March 11.

In addition, on Saturday March 5, when Burnley host Crystal Palace at Turf Moor, the book will be moved to the entrance of the 1882 Lounge, where Gary’s wife Deborah and son Luke will be joined by Clarets legend David Eyres, meeting supporters and accepting donations to help the stricken 43-year-old in his rehabilitation.

Deborah, Luke and David will then make the half time draw during the Palace game.
