Football College in Clarets’ sponsorship deal

UCFB has announced it has agreed a rolling sponsorship deal with Burnley Football Club across a number of platforms.

The higher education institution’s logo is now displayed on the back collar of the Burnley football shirts, while UCFB advertising hoardings are exhibited at pitch level at Turf Moor.

UCFB opens in September and will deliver undergraduate degree courses in the operational and business facets of football. It is a joint venture between Buckinghamshire New University and UCFB and is the first institution of its kind in the world.

In its first year it will deliver three BA (Hons) degree courses in football business and finance, football business and media and football business and marketing. The institution is located at Burnley’s ground, Turf Moor, and the club’s chief executive Paul Fletcher, is a member of UCFB’s advisory board.

Philip Wilson, provost and chief executive of UCFB, said: “This deal will give UCFB exposure to a national and worldwide Championship audience, which we hope will help drive enquiries and applications.

“This is a real example of what our football business and marketing degree will focus on – the business benefits of aligning your brand to a successful football club, and our students will have the opportunity to examine the effectiveness of the sponsorship throughout its duration.

“Burnley have been hugely supportive of UCFB since day one and so were the perfect club for us to sponsor. We’re committed to supporting local football and business and this is another way of demonstrating that.”
