Ex Burnley FC star Paul Comstive (52) dies

Clarets fans around the world were shocked to hear that former midfielder Paul Comstive died on Sunday.

Comstive (52) reportedly died of a heart attack. The news was broken by former team-mate John Deary on Twitter on Sunday evening.

The two remained close friends for many years after their professional careers ended.

The elegant midfielder signed for the Clarets in 1987 in an £8,000 move from Wrexham.

He went on to play 108 games in all competitions, bagging a superb 25 goals.

He left Turf Moor in 1989 to join Bolton for a fee of £37,000.

Many fans remember his appearance in the Sherpa Van Trophy against Wolves in 1988 where he hit the bar.
