In the meantime, record numbers of football fans have been taking to Football Manager to get their fix. For a bit of fun, we've fired up the popular management sim and sent the game into the future, to have a peek at who the Clarets are predicted to sign over the next two transfer windows.
1. Stephen O'Donnell - Kilmarnock
First up - FM predicts Burnley to finish 14th. Still, the club press on, and start the summer window with the rather underwhelming acquisition of the Scottish right-back.
2. Billel Omrani - CFR Cluj - 2.1 million
Boom, now we're talking. The striker joins off the back of a 22-goal season with the Romanian giants, and should prove an exciting addition to Sean Dyche's strike force.
3. Fousseni Diabate - Leicester City - 6 million
After two seasons out on loan - one in France, one in Turkey - the Foxes gave up on the Mali international and sold him for a decent profit. He can play on both wings and has plenty of pace.
4. Louie Sibley - Derby County - 350k
One for the future, this one. The teenage bright spark has been capped at youth level for England, and has the potential to break into Burnley's squad as a backup midfield option.
