Dyche pleased with performance despite defeat

Dyche said: “I think there’s a tinge of disappointment, it’s a tough game against an experienced side with some good results at home, but I think the performance was good overall, and certainly first half.

“Rob Green made an absolute worldy save and the other’s a good save from Scotty Arfield.

“I thought there was a good feel to the game from our point of view in the first half, and certainly some quality.

“We know we need to be more clinical, we have started to be, we just weren’t here.

“I thought we edged the feel of it, but you take wins when they come.

“I look into performances, and it was good again. The organisation, energy and some of the quality was very good.

“We’re still finding the right mixture, but that mixture has to win games.”

He added: “I think the belief has been good all season, we were written off an hour after being promoted, and that enhanced when we didn’t win for 10 games. I think that’s changing, but it’s an interesting journey for us. People tell me they’d be delighted if we stayed in this division because it’s a real story, we’ve not thrown money everywhere, it’s just a group which wants to learn and develop, guided by myself and the staff.

“Its not broken, it’s dented, but we come back again, there’s a good mentality about the group.

“We work in a positive environment, and there’s a resilience as they has to be.”
