Dyche looks at positives in tense run-in

The Clarets are still not safe in one of the tightest Championship seasons in living memory.

But Dyche is not looking over his shoulder - he is merely aiming to win as many of the last four games as possible.

He said: “We’ve got four big games to come for many different reasons. The league is mental. Our challenge is to get as many points on the board for us and what we want to do and achieve here.

“That is still the challenge, it always have been since we got here - to work with the players, find the best mixture, find the best style of play and most effective.”

The average managerial reign in the Championship is less than two seasons, and asked whether the turnover of the men at the helm is a factor, he added: “Possibly. The more people I speak to around our division - other managers, coaches,who have been around it for a long, time - I don’t think anyone can define what it is at the moment. Barnsley were going well and got derailed.

“Peterborough get a win against Watford. There are some crazy results. It’s the same at the top end. Dave Jones said the other day it could be the lowest bottom end of the market and highest bottom end, apart from the market leaders Cardiff.”
