Dyche on the lookout for fresh blood to aid survival bid

Dyche sealed a permanent deal for the 22-year-old centre back on Thursday, after spending four months on loan from Manchester United.

But Dyche remains on the lookout for fresh blood to help keep Burnley out of the Premier League’s bottom three, after climbing out with a 2-1 home win over QPR on Saturday.

After Nathaniel Chalobah returned to Chelsea at the end of his loan last weekend, central midfield is one area Burnley are keen to strengthen, and the club are pursuing a number of targets before the transfer window closes at 11 p.m. on Monday, February 2nd.

Dyche said: “There’s a few different avenues we’re looking into, some have got a chance we think, some might not.

“There’s a certain amount we can throw at it, we have got some money available, but what we spent in the summer is not enough, I’ll not be signing Alexis Sanchez, let’s put it that way.

“But there’s a reality to the demands of the group, I think they’re living up to that, and Keano has fitted into that, so we’re happy with that signing.”

While the club continue to insist top scorer Danny Ings is not for sale, winger Ross Wallace has been linked with a loan move to Championship side Huddersfield Town.

I understand Town are looking more for a striker, but Wallace would appear to fit the bill after the departure of wideman Adam Hammill to Rotherham United, and, out of contract in the summer, is likely to fit Town’s financial framework.

Meanwhile, Burnley go to Spurs for their FA Cup third round replay tomorrow night with a virtually fully-fit squad, with Michael Duff returning to the bench against QPR, while Sam Vokes made his third substitute appearance.

Only Matt Taylor and Stephen Ward, who are both making good progress from their respective injuries, and Kevin Long, who is starting his rehabilitation after successful surgery on his knee, are unavailable.
