The Clarets collected a 10th clean sheet of the season in. 5-0 romp - Burnley's biggest win since a 5-1 success at Portsmouth in March 2012.

Joey Barton and Matt Lowton scored their first goals for the club, with Sam Vokes, Andre Gray and George Boyd also on target, and Dyche said: "Overall it was a very good performance. The first half there was a flatness to the feel here, it's a big stadium and obviously it's hard to fill it for MK Dons. They do a great job here, but I thought there was a flatness and that went onto the pitch a little bit.

"We did okay, we were steady away and I reminded the players at half-time, a couple of, not harsh words, but clear reminders of what we are about and I was really pleased with the second half, not just because of an immediate fantastic goal which set the tone, but the way we controlled the game then, with a lot of good play and organisation.

"We've had a couple of 4-0s recently so we're certainly creating chances and it's another clean sheet, so I'm really pleased at both ends of the pitch.

"Its a tough place to come. They've only conceded 33 goals this season, haven't scored as freely as they'd like, but if you look at the teams having a tough time of it, they've conceded a lot more goals than that.

"We didn't come here expecting an easy ride, but I was really pleased with the professionalism of the players to show that.

"Second half we were very strong."

Dyche made four changes from the side that won at Middlesbrough in the FA Cup on Saturday, and he admitted: "The squad is important, we weren't impressive first half on Saturday, we were miles off, second half a bit better. Second half I thought we were impressive here, and looked like a strong outfit.

"I think we are a strong outfit, we believe in what we're doing, so do the players, and I think that was on show.

"It's another reminder for me. The players want to play and achieve this season.

"We know it's a tough ask, we know the realities of the division, but we're up for the fight.

"10 points from five league games, we're not delighted, but very pleased at the minute with how the players are performing and mainly how they're going about it. Second half there was a real authority.
