Duff doubtful for Burnley FC’s Derby clash

MICHAEL Duff is a big doubt for tomorrow’s game at early pacesetters Derby County, having been forced off just before half-time against Barnet, following a heavy challenge.

Duff broke back into the side for Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Cardiff at Turf Moor, and Clarets assistant manager Jason Tindall said: “Duffo went off injured, much to our disappointment, and he’s had a scan, so we’re just waiting on the results of that, and hopefully it won’t be too serious.

“Fingers crossed he’ll be back for us very soon.

“He might not be involved at Derby, but he feels a lot better, so we’re just waiting on the results to see what they show. Hopefully, there’s nothing wrong and Duffo will be available.

“It’s yet to be decided. It will be dependent on how he feels and what comes back in the results.

“Other than that, everyone’s fit and ready to go.”

Martin Paterson and Danny Ings remain the only injury absentees, while Marvin Bartley completes his three-match suspension.

The Clarets return to Pride Park, where they won 4-2 in April, looking to end the Rams’ 100% start, and Tindall is confident of registering Burnley’s first league win: “Derby are a very good side, they’re on a great run of form, so it’s going to be a tough game, although there’s no easy games in this division, regardless of whether you’re top of the league or bottom.

“We’re going to go there and try to win the game and perform well, which we’re more than capable of doing.

“We went there last year and went behind and won, and we’ll be looking to get another positive result.

“It’s a place where we know we can go and win, we’re more than capable.”
