Derby not giving up Shackell pursuit

The Rams had an offer worth up to £2m rejected last month for their former captain, who was sold to Burnley three years ago for around £1m.

But Derby are determined to get their man, and are continuing to negotiate for their key defensive target.

Shackell was with the squad as expected as they returned to training on Wednesday, and trained at Gawthorpe yesterday.

He is due to travel to France with the Clarets for their six-day training camp on Monday.
