Burnley and Championship goal machine, Danny Ings, has gate-crashed the Premier League hot shots with his piece of magic, which came in a 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest back in September. The superb touch and his shot is a very worthy contender.

Opposing Ings are: Sergio Aguero again of Manchester City, Manchester United’s Robin Van Persie, Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge, Leighton Baines of Everton and Oldham’s Cristian Montano.

All six contenders will be hoping their goal is the winner at the annual Awards’ night at Lancashire Cricket Club’s The Point Conference Centre on November 4. Guests will be asked to vote for their favourite strike with the winning goal announced on the night by Awards’ host and BBC TV’s Football Focus host, Dan Walker.
