Although it seems the Czech Republic international is more likely to be fit after missing the last two games with a hamstring problem.

Boss Sean Dyche said: “Vyds has got a chance.

“We had to make a decision on him (for Fulham) because it is only three or four days since he had a tiny disruption on his hamstring.

“But he was out there working with the physios on Wednesday, so there is a stronger chance he could be involved at the weekend.

“Woody we are still waiting to be sure, we can’t keep losing players, so we’ll wait and see on him.

“Dale Stephens is carrying a knock, so we have to wait and see, Ben (Mee) will be back after the protocols, Johann wait and see, Robbie wait and see, and Erik Pieters.”

In Wood and Vydra’s absence, Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Barnes have formed a fruitful partnership, with the former scoring at Crystal Palace and claiming two assists, one for Barnes to equalise against Fulham.

Dyche has been delighted with the pair in two contrasting games: “Very pleased. It was a pleasing moment of quality for the goal. It’s a kind of mis-touch from Barnesy that sets it up perfectly – the pitch has had a tough time with the amount of games and the weather, so now and again there is the odd bobble, and it actually wrong-foots the keeper, and it’s a good finish after that.”

“If you get a bit of play like that from Jay Rodriguez and a good timing of run from Barnesy, you deserve it. Fantastic play from Jay. Jay stuck at it all night, all the stuff from a centre forward you need. Really pleased with them two."

One concern has been shipping goals from corners in two of the last three home games, despite having Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Robbie Brady on the posts against Brighton and Fulham.

Dyche noted: "Neither player tuned in properly.

"You have to be in an alert position. Robbie just thrashes at it rather than put a foot on it, but we could have done better at source.

"I thought we looked a threat at set-pieces all night though."
