The Clarets led 2-0 thanks to Andre Gray’s brace with just two minutes of normal time remaining at Turf Moor, but Michael Duff found his own net when attempting to cut out Martin Cranie’s cross.

Mee, who has been among a defensive unit that has remained unchanged in 14 Championship outings, said: “The lads are getting to know each other. Ten’s come in and Keano has stepped up this year well again.

“The more you play together the more you get to know each other. We’ve been working well together so far and with Tom behind us it’s a good solid five and communication is a vital part.”

The 26-year-old is enjoying the unpredictability of the division, but is determined to build on a run of four wins in five games ahead of the clash with Fulham this evening.

With two points separating Sean Dyche’s side from league leaders Brighton, Mee said: “People keep winning games. Brighton have got off to a flyer.

“There are a lot of good teams as always and you never know what’s going to happen with this league, but we’re happy with our start and we want to build on it and keep going as we are doing.

“There is plenty of quality in this league, especially with the top teams. It’s going to be dangerous to write someone off in this league.”
