The Clarets have awarded scholarship deals to four young players as they get the chance to further their careers at Turf Moor.
Lewis Nuttall, Charlie Holt, Nathan Lowe and Callum Jakovlevs have all been offered two-year deals after progressing successfully through the club’s Centre of Excellence to under-16 level.
However, Dalian Barker, Matthew Cook, Danny Mukuna, Jordan Scott, Jack Truelove and Will Kinder are to be released.
Centre-forward Nuttall, defender Holt, midfielder Lowe and goalkeeper Jakovlevs have all figured at youth -team level this season and will start their scholarships next season.
“The four of them have done very well and we hope they go onto good things when they join the full-time youth ranks,” said John Francis, assistant Centre of Excellence manager.
“For those that have been released, we wish them all the best and hope they can forge careers elsewhere.”
