BURNLEY Football Club would like to invite supporters to join the club in remembering members of the Clarets’ family who have sadly passed away in the past year.
Following a proposal by the Supporters’ Liaison Group, the club has designated the first home game of the calendar year as an appropriate time to hold a one-minute silence in memory of loved ones.
The first In Memoriam will therefore take place ahead of the Burnley v Crystal Palace game at Turf Moor on Saturday, January 12th.
The SLG, comprising of senior club staff, supporters’ club members and representatives from the Clarets Trust, hereby invite supporters to submit the names of anyone who has passed away in 2012 and who you would like to be remembered in this moment of reflection.
All names we receive will be added to the former players and staff who have passed away and displayed on the big screen ahead of the Palace game.
All names will also appear in the edition of the matchday magazine, Claret & You, that accompanies the game.
Please e-mail the name, age and hometown of the person you would like to be included to firstname.lastname@example.org
The deadline for names to be received is Wednesday.
On behalf of all senior staff, management and supporters, the club we would like to pass on sincere condolences for your loss.
• BURNLEY Football Club is asking over 500 ‘lost’ shareholders to contact the club urgently.
The club currently has 1,726 shareholders registered, most with a single share in the company.
However, a total of 884 shares are currently owned by persons who the club has no current contact details for.
And with important documents about to be issued to all shareholders early in 2013, Burnley Football Club is looking to contact as many as possible.
If you are a shareholder and have not received any communication with Burnley Football Club in the past 12 months, please write to company secretary Clive Holt at the club address, or e-mail your details to email@example.com
