AFTER Clarets fans voted in numbers to help Richard Chaplow win the PFA First Division Player of the Month award for December, they are being urged to help team-mate Robbie Blake win another prestigious title.
Chaplow, recently called up to the England Under 19 squad, received recognition of his growing reputation when he was presented with his PFA award before Saturdays FA Cup win over Gillingham.
Blake, who is one of the top contenders for the PFAs January award with Rob Earnshaw, John Eustace, Ricardo Fuller and Andy Reid, is also shortlisted by the FA for their FA Cup Player of the Round gong, run in partnership with Umbro.
Blake, whose two stunning goals helped seal the 3-1 win over Gillingham, is joined by Swansea veteran Roger Freestone, whose goalkeeping heroics helped knock Preston out at the Vetch Field, as well as Liverpools French midfielder Bruno Cheyrou, whose brace proved crucial against Newcastle.
Fans can decide the winner by voting on-line at www.theFA.com, and votes have to be cast before 5 p.m. today.
Voters have the chance to win tickets for the fifth round, with a winner to be drawn from all entries.
Should Blake win, 1,500-worth of Umbro kit and equipment will be made available for the school, club or organisation of his choice.
FA Executive Director David Davies said: The FA Cup always produces heroes, and Burnley fans now have the chance to really get behind Robbie Blake.
The added bonus is that if Robbie receives the most votes, grass roots football in the area will benefit.
Blake, who took his seasonal goal tally to 17 with his double blast against the Gills, was also named in the BBC team of the week, partnering Arsenals Dennis Bergkamp in attack!
