Burnley look set to be frustrated again in their search for a central midfielder.
The Clarets had been waiting on a decision from Belgian international Steven Defour, with his club Anderlecht prepared to accept their €9m offer.
However, despite United Arab Emirates club Al Jazira only being prepared to offer €7m for the 28-year-old - the asking price Anderlecht were prepared to let the former Porto man leave for two months ago - it seems Defour has been swayed by a move to Abu Dhabi.
Al Jazira have offered Defour 50% more in wages than Burnley, with Anderlecht set to cut their losses and accept the lower transfer fee.
Sean Dyche was reportedly in the stand at the Constant Vanden Stock Stadium to watch Defour score in a 5-1 win for Anderlecht against KV Kortrijk on Saturday.
