Burnley returned to training yesterday, ahead of a season where the Clarets will play in Europe for the first time in over half a century.
The Clarets reported back to base at the Barnfield Training Centre at Gawthorpe, with the first leg of their Europa League second qualifying round tie against Aberdeen at Pittodrie three weeks on Thursday.
The entire playing squad – bar Johann Berg Gudmundsson and Nick Pope – were back ahead of their pre-season campaign, which will take in five days in Cork next week, and an opening friendly against Cork City at Turner’s Cross on Friday, July 13th.
Burnley then have two teams in action on Friday, July 20th, at Macclesfield Town and Curzon Ashton, before a trip down the M65 to face Preston North End on Monday, July 23rd – three days before the game at Aberdeen.
The Clarets then host Montpellier on Sunday, July 29th, before the second leg with the Dons at Turf Moor on Thursday, August; 2nd.
And Sunday, August 5th sees Espanyol visit Turf Moor.
