Clarets target Judge set to remain with Brentford

It now seems highly unlikely that the Clarets will be able to prize Alan Judge away from Brentford, though a deal for team-mate James Tarkowski grows ever nearer.

The 27-year-old, who received the Championship’s player of the month accolade for October, has confirmed, along with his agent Barry Whelan, that he’s staying at Griffin Park.

The Irishman, who has scored 12 times for the Bees this term adding seven assists, has been the subject of rebuffed bids from the Clarets and Sheffield Wednesday while Sunderland are also believed to have expressed an interest.

“It has been flattering to be linked with other clubs, but I will be staying at Brentford this month,” Judge told HITC.

“I want to focus on the rest of the season and do my best to try and help the team finish as high up the table as possible.

“I enjoy working under the manager and love the support I get from the fans and hopefully we can all enjoy a good end to the season.”

And, just to reaffirm his client’s statement, Whelan added: “There’s no need to worry about any late interest or late bids. Alan wants to stay with the club until the summer, and that won’t be changing at any time today.”
