George Boyd and Michael Keane were at the Kelbrook Road school in Barnoldswick on Thursday afternoon where they signed autographs for pupils and enjoyed a kickabout with some of the school’s budding football talent.

The opening of the state-of-the-art facility coincided with the launch of a new partnership the school has with the football club’s academy.

The pitch is also available in an evening for community use and players, pupils and staff have hailed the benefits the new synthetic surface will bring to the area.
