Clarets receive Charlie Austin boost

Burnley have received a boost with the news that Charlie Austin may only be sidelined short-term with his shoulder injury.

Austin visited a specialist on Monday after X-rays confirmed there was no fracture in the left shoulder that he dislocated at the weekend.

And the Clarets are hopeful that another scan on Friday will bring more good news and a shorter than expected spell on the sidelines for their nine-goal joint top scorer.

Manager Eddie Howe confirmed: “Charlie has seen a specialist and it appears to be good news; certainly as good as we could have hoped for.

“He will have a further scan at the end of the week and we’ll know more then, but we’re hopeful to have him back in action much sooner than we feared.”
