Clarets defender Keane shortlisted for Player of the Month Award

Michael Keane has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month award for August.

Michael Keane celebrates his goal against Bristol City this weekend

The Clarets defender netted three times in the opening five games of the season with his head, accounting for half of the team’s tally.

His rivals for the award are Stephen Gleeson (Birmingham City), Ryan Fraser (Ipswich Town), and Kazenga Lua Lua (Brighton Hove & Albion).

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.

The winner will be announced on Friday, September 4.
