Clarets’ charity set for African mission

Burnley FC in the Community, the official charity of Burnley Football Club, are recruiting adventurous volunteers to do something amazing in Africa!

From October 24th to November 2nd, Burnley FC in the Community are embarking on a week-long mission to Woe, Ghana as part of the charity’s Clarets Challenges - a series of fundraising events occurring throughout the year for fans and supporters of the charity’s work alike to get involved with.

Teaming up with African Adventures - the UK’s most effective volunteer travel organisation - the charity are returning to Woe to build on the community development work they carried out in the area last year.

The event will also raise funds for projects and programmes being carried out in Burnley, Pendle and Rossendale by Burnley FC in the Community and other local charities.

Included in the trip will be an exciting adventure weekend where volunteers will experience Ghana’s fascinating culture and enjoy the breath-taking natural beauty of the region.

An information evening is taking place in the 1882 lounge at Turf Moor on Wednesday, from 5-30 p.m.

Burnley FC in the Community welcomes anyone who might be interested in taking part and asks that all attendees report to the Bob Lord Stand reception.
