Burnley youngster Coleman joins Droyslden on loan

CLARETS’ teenager Alex Coleman has secured a loan move to Blue Square North club Droylsden.

Coleman has joined the Bloods on a month-long deal and will be available for their home game against Solihull Moors on Saturday afternoon.

The move to the Butchers Arms will give the 18-year-old central defender, who signed his first professional contract at Turf Moor at the end of last season, a first taste of competitive senior action.

He has so far featured regularly for the Reserves and this season for the Development Squad - captaining the side which lost 1-0 to Blackpool in a friendly on Thursday afternoon - after helping the Clarets reach the semi-finals of the FA Youth Cup last term.

Coleman joins Tom Anderson and Joe Jackson, who are both at AFC Barrow, out on loan as part of the Clarets’ policy of giving first-team experience to their young players to aid their development.
