A side containing Kevin Long and Fredrik Ulvestad - as they step up their return from injury - saw off the Latics, who fielded former Claret Chris Eagles as a trialist.

Massanka’s first goal came just after the half hour, as he collected a througbball from Ulvestad and rounded keeper Owen Evans, before showing good composure to steady himself and slot home past the defenders on the line.

And 20 minutes from time he sealed the win with a falling volley, after substitute Renny Smiith’s first-time pass from Jamie Frost’s ball out to the right.

Massanka was replaced shortly after by Khius Metz, after taking his tally to seven goals in his last five Development Squad games.

Skipper Tom Anderson sealed victory with a thumping header from a Brad Jackson corner 11 minutes from time.
