Burnley Town Disability Football team are on the up.

The side, formed four years ago by Jackie Nelson, play in the Frenkel Topping Lancashire FA Ability Counts League, and recently finished third in the Championship, under coach Andy Payton – the Clarets legend – with Richard Riley named as player of the year.

The team, who also take part in go karting and paintballing as a group, have twice finished runners-up in the Premier League, playing against the likes of Manchester United and Fleetwood Town. They train at Nelson and Colne College.
