Burnley SHOCK contenders to sign Champions League and Premier League winner
Liverpool favourite Adam Lallana – who lifted the top-flight trophy at Anfield last night – is set to depart Merseyside when his contract expires at the end of this month.
The 32-year-old England international had agreed a short-term extension to his deal, enabling him to complete the remainder of the campaign after the COVID-19 caused football to postpone the season from March to June.
However, after six trophy-laden years with Liverpool, Lallana is set to leave Jurgen Klopp’s squad – and will be available on the free-agent market this coming summer.
And the bookmakers have been quick to install odds on where the former Southampton man – who was once sold for a cool £25m – will end up at the beginning of the 2020/21 season.
Interestingly, Dyche’s Burnley are contenders to land the FIFA World Cup Club and UEFA Super Cup winner, with SkyBet offering the short price of 5/1.
However, a raft of Premier League and foreign clubs are also in the running to sign Lallana, according to the bookmakers.
The list includes Brighton (1/4), Bournemouth (7/1), Sheffield United (16/1), Leicester City (20/1), Southampton (20/1), Everton (25/1), Lazio (25/1), Leeds United (25/1), Newcastle United (33/1), West Brom (33/1), West Ham (33/1), Blackburn (40/1) and Watford (40/1).
