The third goal duly arrived just after the hour, when Greenhalgh latched on to a sublime pass from Emily Forrest and calmly steered the ball into the bottom corner.

The visitors pulled a goal back with five minutes remaining when goalkeeper Karly Bland was beaten by a deflection.

However, Hayton rounded off the scoring in stoppage time after exchanging passes with Jo Rohman.

Burnley travel to face Birkenhead Ladies on Sunday (kick off 2 p.m.).
