Burnley FC Supports ‘Help The Hospices’ Week

THIS March, Burnley Football Club will join the other 71 League clubs in supporting Help the Hospices.

All 72 Football League clubs are preparing to join forces in a united week of action to raise awareness and vital funds for Help the Hospices - The Football League’s Official Charity Partner for the 2011/12 season.

Help the Hospices Football Week, which runs until March 11, will see fans, players and managers get behind Help the Hospices, the UK charity for hospice care.

As part of that commitment, Burnley Football Club will:

* Feature the Help the Hospices logo on players’ shirts

* Wear sunflower badges to show support for Help the Hospices

* Hold a bucket collection for our local hospice

John Nagle, Head of Communications at The Football League, said: “It is likely that around half the number of people that watch Football League matches will know someone that has been cared for by a hospice.

“Hospice care is usually free for patients and families, but it’s not free to provide. Therefore, please help us to make a difference to seriously ill people and their families by getting involved during ‘Help the Hospices Football Week’.”

Burnley Football Club is twinned with Pendleside Hospice as part of The Football League’s Official Charity Partnership with Help the Hospices.
