Burnley FC sign Marvin Bartley

Burnley Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of Marvin Bartley from Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee.

The 24-year-old, who played under current Clarets boss Eddie Howe at Dean Court, has signed a three-and-a-half year deal at Turf Moor.

Bartley joined Bournemouth at the start of the 2007/08 season from non-league Hampton & Richmond, following spells with Hayes and Didcot Town.

The Reading-born midfielder, a former sprinter, began his career at his home-town club before moving to Burnham, where he played alongside his two brothers.

After joining the Cherries, he quickly became been a mainstay of the side under Howe, making over 130 appearances and earning a new contract during the 2009-10 campaign.
