Burnley FC reserves lose out at Bury

BURNLEY Reserves lost only their second game of the season on Wednesday night against Bury at Radcliffe Borough, going down 4-3 after leading 2-0 and 3-1.

From trialist Louis Rae-Beadle’s corner over, Bury’s Jordan Melia put through his own goal under presure.

Burnley doubled their lead just after the half hour when Michael King’s cross was turned in by Jackson.

Bury replied almost immediately, with Liam Boswell netting after a slip from keeper Josh Cook, but within two minutes it was 3-1, with Dominic Knowles putting the finishing touch to Alex-Ray Harvey’s centre.

It was a different story after the break, however, as Bury came storming back.

After 51 minutes, Luke McCarthy made it 3-2 as his shot squirmed past Cook and into the corner.

McCarthy levelled matters after the hour mark, and in injury time, Adam Dawson’s tame effort beat Cook to hand the Shakers the points.
