Burnley duo prove outstanding value for money


And analysis conducted by Football Index into last summer’s transfer market has shown his two outfield recruits weren among the most prudent signings in the Premier League.
The research analysed over 150 permanent transfers of outfield players across Europe’s top five leagues, using a combination of transfer fee and weekly salaries, to highlight how each club performed in the transfer market, and if the Premier League gets worse value than the remaining elite leagues on the continent.

Hide AdJay Rodriguez returned to his hometown club from West Brom, in a deal which cost Burnley two installments of £5m, and was the second best value for money striker in the Premier League behind Jordan Ayew – his eight goals cost Burnley just £955,000 each
And left back Erik Pieters was the best value for money clean sheets in the Premier League – each of his six clean sheets cost just £381,666.67
Pieters was behind only Sam Bryam for best value for money defender – each of his 103 tackles and clearances cost just £22,233
Indeed, Pieters offered the best value in Europe for attacking returns from a full back – his four assists cost just £572,500 each.
