Burnley boss up for Foxes test

Clarets boss Sean Dyche admits he isn’t fussy where the points come from as he looks to stay top of the Championship.

But victory at third place Leicester City at the King Power Stadium (kick-off 12-15 p.m.) would be another important step in the right direction.

The Foxes, who briefly knocked Burnley off the top after a two-month stay, lie just a point adrift, with QPR second, with a poorer goal difference than the Clarets.

Earlier this season it was laughably levelled against Dyche’s side that they hadn’t beaten any team of note in reaching the summit - and they responded by seeing off Reading and QPR at Turf Moor.

Dyche hopes for a similar effort in front of the Sky cameras tomorrow: “We had that run of results but people were saying we hadn’t beaten anyone at the top, and then we beat people at the top! The reality is you want to beat everyone if you can, but it’s fair to say they are the bigger end of the market.

“You’ve got your Leicesters and Nottingham Forest, QPR - the teams that have come down, Wigan and Reading - there are some big clubs.

“We think some good things and big things about ourselves but the facts are they are big clubs.

“They get big crowds, they have big stadiums, they are a force so it makes it a tough game, but we’ve shown in those big games and important games that we’ve delivered, so it’s important that we focus on what we can do and what we can achieve.”

Dyche doesn’t buy into the six-pointer cliche however: “I just look at it as another big game.

“These games are important anyway in any season, whether it’s Burnley going to the so-called big clubs with the stadiums and the fanbase, or clubs coming to us. I think every game’s a big game for different reasons.

“They’re all important, they all have a different meaning but the purpose is the same and that’s to get the win and another three points.

“Points are points, I’m happy wherever they come from.

“We’ve made a good habit of getting those three points, and if not, a point.”
