The league will restart on June 17th, with Burnley's first action expected to be a trip to Manchester City that weekend.

A rearranged fixture list will be released shortly, with the Clarets still to play their final nine fixtures - looking to build on an unbeaten run of seven league games going into lockdown.

Clubs voted to move to contact training this week, after returning in small 'pods' of players last week, and Dyche, speaking to burnleyfc.com, said: “The players have all returned to training in good shape, and we have stepped up to stage two of the training protocol with no concerns.

“But now we have a firm date to get going again, we can work backwards from that point and begin to add some detail into the training.

“I think we are all looking forward to getting started again. Hopefully, the testing will continue to bring good results to ensure that we can kick-off again.”

Dyche has spoken throughout lockdown of his desire to play out the remainder of the season, even if it was behind closed doors, and he added: “Without the fans in stadiums it won’t be football as we know and love it.

“But it will still be competitive Premier League football and that is surely better than having no games at all.”
