The summer window will open on Monday, July 27th, the day after the final round of Premier League games, and shut on October 5th, which is likely to be around three weeks after the projected start of the 2020/21 campaign.

There will inevitably be interest in the Clarets’ three ever-presents this season, England keeper Nick Pope, twice-capped James Tarkowski and Under 21 international Dwight McNeil.

But whatever the fall out worldwide from the coronavirus pandemic, in terms of the transfer market, Burnley are not in a position where they have to sell to help the running of the club, and if anyone does leave, it will be because the deal makes sense for all parties.

Burnley are a long way from 2014, when they had to sell Charlie Austin on the eve of the season, and, asked whether he was confident of holding onto Pope, Tarkowski and McNeil, Dyche said: “As confident as ever.

”We have changed as a club and are financially in very good shape.

”We can make sure we can safeguard as many situations as possible, but equally the club has sold players in the past and if a player is sold that will be part of the balance.

”The balance is investing in the right players, and at some point players being sold.

”We are in really good shape financially, any Premier League payments are offset for a long period of time.

”There is a balance to any shortfalls in finance and when it is paid and the like.

“There is also an adjustment bonus for our position so that wil adjust against possible monies being paid back.

“There is a balance to the finance but I know we are in good shape as a club, but all the details are for the chief exec and the chairman to talk about.”
