The New Zealander has hit double figures in three successive seasons since becoming the club's record signing from Leeds United in 2017.

The 29-year-old Kiwi matched the returns of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sadio Mane and Wayne Rooney at the end of his first campaign.

He then matched Marcus Rashord, Anthony Martial, Lucas Moura, Leroy Sane and Wilfried Zaha in his second.

And last term was his most prolific to date in the top flight as he finished with 14 goals - bettering the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison, Kevin De Bruyne, Heung-Min Son, Alexandre Lacazette and Roberto Firmino.

Dyche said: "I think Harry Kane is a top class centre forward. Outside those guys who seem to score lots of goals every season, you hear people saying 'he only got 10!' You think 'what, he only got 10 goals in the Premier League ' It's like it's just an easy thing to do.

"If you're hitting double figures in the Premier League, no matter what club you're at, particularly if you're outside the super clubs, then that's a pretty healthy return. If you're doing that year on year it's no mean feat.

"He's done really well for us. People sometimes question it, but show me how many players are getting 10."

Wood requires a goal every two games if he's to reach double figures for a fourth time on the bounce.

The forward, who made a substitute appearance in the 4-0 defeat to Spurs, having been sidelined since the end of January, could start against his former club at Turf Moor in midweek.

The former Leicester City man netted 20 goals in 33 starts in all competitions during his time at the King Power Stadium.

Speaking about Wood, who last found the net when scoring the winner against Aston Villa at home, Dyche said: "When you look at it across the years, the main players are there because they're at clubs creating loads and loads of chances, they've got talent everywhere.

"For clubs like ourselves we've got to really work hard to make those chances and work even harder to take them. A lot of credit goes to all our strikers, especially Woody who has been getting goals year on year.

"The last goal almost makes some players feel super powerful ahead of the next one, but with some players it makes them think that they've got to go out and score again.

"There are two trains of thought. I always thought when strikers are scoring it almost free-flows a little bit. Some can question it and then they hit a quiet spell.

"Every player will have a different view about how they feel when they score. I think it's a very individual thing."
