The 19-year-old joined the Sky Bet League One side, managed by former Blackburn Rovers midfielder David Dunn, on a one-month youth loan deal while Daniel Lafferty also made the move to Boundary Park for the same duration.

The pair featured for the Latics at the weekend as they drew 3-3 with Gillingham at the Priestfield Stadium.

Northern Ireland youth international Dummigan, an integral part of the U21 Development Squad this season, featured for the Clarets senior set up in pre-season having recovered from a groin injury at the back end of last season.

Lafferty made 11 appearances during a loan spell with Rotherham United last term. The 26-year-old has recently recovered from a collarbone injury but found first-team opportunities limited due to the form of Ben Mee.

“It’s a really good move for him,” said Dyche. “Cam had an unfortunate time last season, we think a lot of him and I want him to get first team action.

“He wants first team action, so we’re really pleased, and Laffers as well for fitness and sharpness after breaking his collarbone.

“Cammy’s a young player we really like, he’s worked really hard with the first team a lot now, and has done fantastically well to get over a tough injury last year.

“He would have been a lot closer to us had he not been injured, I’m sure of that, so we’ll see how he goes when he’s out playing for real.”

Meanwhile, Stephen Ward has made the cut for Martin O’Neill’s 27-man Republic of Ireland squad.

They face Germany in a UEFA Euro 2016 Group D qualifier at the Aviva Stadium on Thursday and face Poland in Warsaw on Sunday.
