Boyhood Burnley fan’s ‘dream’ at sponsorship

Speaking at the launch of Burnley’s new retro styled 2015-16 home shirt, Jason Bannister, Managing Director of Oak Furniture Land, said it was an “absolutely amazing” day seeing the company named as the club’s principal sponsor and home shirt sponsor.
Mr Bannister was joined at Oak Furniture Land’s Burnley store off Active Way by his mum Rita, Clarets manager Sean Dyche and team mascot Bertie Bee.

“Having my company’s name on the shirts is a proud moment and the fulfilment of a dream.
“We used to sponsor the back of the shirt and as Sean would say ‘now we go again’ and sponsor the front.”
The predominantly claret shirt made by Puma carries a blue shoulder stripe and clean-looking V-neck, with contrast cuff panelling.

The shirt is manufactured from 100 per cent polyester, with Cool Dry technology, drawing moisture away from the body to keep you drier and cooler for longer.
Mr Dyche praised the kit saying: “I think it’s good. I think it’s always appropriate that we try and find a balance that the team feel comfortable of course, that’s the main thing.
“You want them to be out there comfortable in the kit.
“Also that there is a good look to it for the history and feel of the club. But also we do bear in mind the marketing side, where most fans go to the ground in a pair of jeans.

“If it looks good and you’re winning, great.
“I think it’s a good looking kit and obviously Oak (Furniture) Land have been fantastic in backing us.
“They’ve backed us for a while but stepped that up this season which is great.”
