Burnley schoolboy Billy Grogan is one step closer to fulfilling his dream after signing a Scholarship with the Clarets.
Blessed Trinity student Billy, 16, has been with Burnley for three years after being spotted playing for his school and attending a six-week trial.
And the Clarets fan has now been told he has earned a two-year Scholarship at Turf Moor.
“It was nerve-wracking finding out as it’s a matter of opinions, and some coaches will like the way you play and some won’t,” said right back Billy, who is currently studying for his GCSEs.
“We all got called into a meeting separately with a few of the coaches and Academy Manager Jason Blake told me I had been given a Scholarship.
“I was shocked but also elated, I couldn’t stop smiling. It’s my ambition to play for Burnley.”
