Waterlogged pitches left several of the Burnley FC Girls and Ladies sides without a game this weekend.
But the Under 12s guaranteed their highest-ever league finish, with a 4-2 win over Euxton Girls.
Saturday’s game at the Prairie was played in driving rain and on a sticky pitch, but the Clarets still showed flashes of skill in a solid team performance.
Midfielder Abi Dawson scored two, to double her tally of goals for the season, and Annabelle Uttley was player of the match.
Striker Amy Foley’s second goal in the space of eight days gave the Under 13s a share of the points at Formby JSC on Sunday. In a hard-fought game, the late goal brought the scoreline to 2-2, to continue the Clarets’ run of five games without defeat in March.
The Under 14s posted an impressive 2-0 win at Fillies.
Against a physical side playing a long ball game, Burnley stuck to their passing and moving style and played some good football.
With two well-matched teams, it was a close game, with neither side managing to score in the first half. With 20 minutes to go, Burnley moved to a more attacking formation, and Jess Greenwood scored, followed by a 20-yarder from Kendall Kelly.
