Wenger said of the Clarets “They’re better than a point, that’s what their stats show and they’ve been punished in some games because they couldn’t take their chances but I believe that for us it’s important that we are highly focussed and expect to play against a strong team because they are.”

The long serving Arsenal manager also had high praise for Burnley manager Sean Dyche who yesterday celebrated two years in charge at Burnley “He’s done a great job because nobody expected Burnley to be in the Premier League this year and overall I think his style of play is positive, they create chances if you look at the stats and the consistency of what he has achieved is remarkable.”

“I always believe that quality is linked with consistency and on that front he has taken as well the maximum potential of his team and that is a sign of quality from a manager.”
