Triple boost ahead of new season for champs Burnley CC

Burnley College Construction Division have presented a beautiful handcrafted display cabinet to Burnley Cricket Club, to help showcase their past and future successes.

The cabinet was presented to delighted cricket club chairman Michael Brown and John Bushell on Saturday, when the club also officially opened their brand new net facilities.

The club would like to thank the Lancashire Cricket Board and Jason Bannister of Oak Furniture Land for their support.

Burnley, who last season won the Lancashire League title, Worsley Cup, Twenty20 Trophy and Ron Singleton Colne Trophy, have also agreed a two-year contract with Zulu to supply all of Burnley’s playing kit.

Meanwhile, Burnley have scheduled an inter-club Twenty20 friendly for today, followed by a Race Night.

The Lancashire League champions then host Read in a pre-season friendly on Saturday, April 2nd.

The following day the Lancashire Federation visit Turf Moor for a friendly.

Burnley’s Junior Section will be holding a sponsored walk on Monday, starting at 11 a.m.

The walk will be approximately 3.2miles, setting off from Burnley Cricket Club, walking to Towneley, past Towneley Garden Centre and then back to the club via Brunshaw Road.

Food will be available back at the club on the day.

The money raised will be used towards buying a defibrillator.

Lowerhouse have three pre-season friendlies lined up.

On Saturday, April 9th, the club travel to Woodbank, and the following day, Sunday, April 10th, they visit Blackpool.

On Saturday, April 16th, the club are at Longridge.

On Sunday, April 10th, Lowerhouse seconds entertain Padiham seconds.

Lowerhouse professional Dieter Klein has arrived in England to assist Surrey in pre-season training.
