Record-breaker Tripathi dishes out the awards at club’s junior presentation night

Burnley Cricket Club’s thriving junior section was recognised and celebrated for their respective achievements this term at the annual presentation evening.

Burnley’s new amateur batting record-holder Vishal Tripathi, who surpassed Jon Harvey’s tally on the way to helping the club land a Lancashire League clean sweep, was on hand to dish out the awards.

Steve Brunt, chairman of the junior section, congratulated all the players for a committed and hard-working season with particular praise going to the Under 9s A team, managed by Lawrie Johnstone, and the Under 11s B team, managed by Phil Broadhurst, who won their respective leagues.

Under 13s A, batting: Harry Tomlinson; bowling: Haider Ali Khan; Manager’s award: Jude Mercer. Under 13s B, batting: Luke Hutton; bowling: James Swift; Manager’s award: Molly Rebanks. Under 15s, batting: Qasim Shah; bowling: Hanaf Shahid; Manager’s award: Haider Ali Khan. Under 17s, batting: Qasim Shah; bowling: Matt Thornton; Manager’s award: Ben Sutcliffe.
