Padiham’s future lay up in the air ahead of a Ribblesdale League meeting last night.

The club cannot finish outside the bottom two in the Senior Division after losing both weekend fixtures, and could be relegated to the First Division at the EGM, where representatives from each club were given the opportunity to vote for or against the proposed relegation structure.

Callum Clarke’s side lost a crucial battle against fellow strugglers Cherry Tree on Saturday - although Tree remain in the same boat as Padiham.

Tree made 198-8, of which Naeem Ashraf hit 61. Professional Chris Holt took 5-92.

However, in reply, Padiham were all out for 147 as Kamran Anwar took 5-68.

The following day, Padiham fell eight runs short against Earby, bowled out for 182.

Meanwhile, fourth place Read won one and lost one of their games. On Sunday, Elliott Artingstoll hit a superb 95 as Read totalled 190.

Whalley were dismissed for 149 in reply.

The previous day, they came up short against champions Clitheroe, who won by four wickets after Kashif Siddique took 8-18 to help dismiss Read for 91.
