A severely depleted Lowerhouse seconds went down against a strong Haslingden - before a side with first team experience eased past Bacup.

Ben Gorton passed 500 runs for the season in the process. He hit 90 as Lowerhouse were all out for 157, chasing Haslingden’s 254-2.

The following day, Bacup were all out for 82 as Jon Finch took 5-18 and Gorton 3-23.

Lewis Marsden hit 26 in reply, while Gorton (21 not out) and Josh Lavin (14 not out) saw the West Enders home.

The Under 17s racked up what could be a record 151-1 in beating Haslingden (95-5).

Joey Stein hit 53 not out, Gorton 51 not out and Harry Halstead 31 not out, while Gorton also took 3-10.

The Under 15 Sharks went down against East Lancs, despite wickets for Jack Moodie (2-33) and knocks from Ben Uttley (26 not out) and Ethan Laraway (25).

Sam Harrison took 2-12 as the Under 15 Barracudas lost to Church, and the side were also beaten by Bacup, although Becky Gorton (18), Robson Elliott (17), Taha Dabir (12), Luke Cocker (2-14) and Drew Sandiford (2-14) shone.

The Under 13 Panthers lost to Haslingden in the cup, with Rowan Greenwood (31 not out), Ben Woodall (17 not out) and Josh Moodie (2-14) impressing, but beat Rishton with Josh Astley (2-3), Moodie (2-15), James Wearden (31 not out), Thomas Halstead (30 not out) and Jack Simm (13 not out).
