Lowerhouse are refusing to roll over in their bid to retain their Lancashire League crown.
The defending champions, who have won the title three times in the last four seasons, remained third in the table after beating Todmorden by three wickets at Centre Vale on Sunday.
But time is running out for the West Enders who lie 32 points behind table-topping Burnley with eight league fixtures remaining.
It’s a big ask but it’s still all to play for, particularly when you take in to consideration the fact that the pair go head-to-head in the derby at Liverpool Road on August 30th.
In a low scoring match, Fergus Bailey took 5-24 and Matt Walker added 3-19 to dismiss the hosts for 107, with Ben Sutcliffe making 25 while Elliott Gilford chipped in with 17.
Sub professional Jalat Khan took 4-55 and Martin Harlow 3-31 to make life difficult for the away side, but Lewis Marsden (12 not out) and Chris Bleazard (11 not out)saw Lowerhouse over the line.
Jonny Whitehead (24) and Walker (16) also made significant contributions.
