Cricketer Joe Halstead, who lives in Cliviger, has hit his first ever century.
Joe was playing for the QEGS Blackburn Under 14s team in the Harold Bailey Lancashire Cup Trophy quarter-final against Pendle Vale School, Nelson, where he hit a fantastic 125 not out.
“I was a bit nervous to begin with but I soon started to hit the ball well and just went on from there. It is my first ever hundred and was all the better to be able to walk off not out”, said a very happy Joe.
QEGS made 201-4 off their 30 overs, but Pendle Vale could only manage 147- 9 in reply, giving QEGS a 54 run win.
