Sunday saw the curtain drawn on the career of one of Lowerhouse’s most popular players.

Joe Beneduce made his debut in a derby win against Burnley on June 11th, 2000.

On September 4th, 2005 he became the first Lowerhouse captain to guide a side to the Lancashire League championship.

In his first XI career he scored over 2,000 league and cup runs and has taken 36 wickets along the way.

Popular Joe has decided the time is right to call it a day and will enjoy plenty of rounds of early morning golf before joining the ranks of the ‘House Army at most home and away games.

Also calling it a day is groundsman Peter Tighe.

Curator since 2006, Peter epitomises hard work and will be sorely missed.

Lowerhouse’s directors, on behalf of the players and supporters want to thank Joe and Peter for their commitment to the cause.
